Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register.
Recording data: Audio recordings you upload, along with AI-generated transcriptions, summaries, and flashcards.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, recording duration, and general usage patterns.
Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.
We use your data to: provide and improve the Matcha service; generate AI-powered transcriptions, summaries, and flashcards from your recordings; process payments; send service-related notifications (e.g., when your notes are ready); respond to support requests.
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Audio files are stored in Supabase Storage. Database records are hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL). We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

Matcha uses minimal cookies for authentication (session tokens stored in localStorage). We use Plausible Analytics which is cookie-free and does not track individual users. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (recordings, transcripts, summaries) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Payment records may be retained as required by law.
Matcha is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email.
